Emma Cunliffe

A former Chetham’s student, Emma originally trained as a secondary school Music teacher and from there she went on to work at Huddersfield University, the BBC Philharmonic and The Bridgewater Hall in community music and music education roles.

Sarah Atter

Sarah Atter is a Manchester-based musician with extensive experience of devising and delivering education and community projects. She works across a variety of fields including music in healthcare, music in the community, music in education and music in criminal justice.

Sophie Hastings

Since graduating from the RNCM Sophie has performed at the BBC Proms and toured with many major orchestras playing drum kit, Latin and orchestral percussion.  Sophie is head of Drum Kit and Rhythm Percussion at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she promotes individual creativity in the developing musician.

Andrea Vogler

Andrea Vogler studied percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music and enjoys a varied career as a performer and educator.  She is the Director of RNCM Young Percussion and is the recipient of an RNCM Teaching and Learning Award in recognition of her excellence and innovation in teaching and learning.

Owen Cox

Owen is Assistant Head of Strings at Chetham’s where he runs the young string ensembles, chamber music as well as teaching individuals.  He also directs the Greater Manchester Youth String Orchestra and coaches on National Children’s Orchestra.  He was previously a violinist in the CBSO and BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

Sarah Heard

Sarah began her career as a woodwind teacher for Hampshire Music Service and led community ensembles Saxophony and Funky Flute Club.  Now she facilitates the Outreach Programme at Chetham’s and works for the Royal Opera House in their Learning & Participation department.
